Mission Statement

Global Adventure Plus helps Britain’s ex-servicemen get back on their feet after serving their country in the forces. Through the challenges of adventure, team-work and camaraderie. GAP re-invigorates and re-motivates soldiers who have lost their way since leaving the job they knew and loved.

Run by ex-soldiers who know only too well how difficult the adjustment to civilian life can be after years in the forces, GAP adventures are earned, not handed out, and are a thrilling way for those who may have suffered physical or mental traumas to find their zest for life again, helping them and their families move on from the experiences of the past.

Background

Global Adventure Plus is a complimentary motivational support aimed at physically and mentally injured servicemen and women. No claim of a scientific cure is being made but the concept aims at enabling a fast track to better health through a process of fundraising for others, combined with high adrenalin adventure.

It is startling to learn that in comparison to the 256 British killed during the Falkland’s conflict over 370 have since committed suicide, it is believed that over 25% of our homeless are ex military and the largest occupational group within HM prisons are ex military.

Based on evidence that healing benefits from good motivation and outlook. This highly effective blend of challenge and laughter encourages an exciting mix of veterans and civilians to work and focus on a meaningful and tangible aim.

The events challenge participants mentally and physically, rekindling enthusiasm for life by utilising the many skills learnt in the military whilst challenging contributors to learn new skills that lead to life affirming new experiences and accomplishments such as fundraising for others.
